Our goal at Time Well Spent . . .
is to help your child develop a lifelong love of learning. We facilitate this development by providing a
creative, nurturing, safe environment filled with challenging opportunities. Children learn best
through concrete encounters with their world. What you will see when you visit our facility are
children involved in structured learning experiences. It might appear that your child is “just playing”.
But keep in mind that play is the work of childhood.
“Play is the process, the means to education. Through play the child experiences, relate the new to
the familiar, makes their new inferences, tests. their new knowledge and makes it a part of their
being. Play and learning are inseparable companions.

Tuition at Time Well Spent . . .
is outlined in our Tuition Agreement. When you enroll your child, and from time to
time, you will be asked to sign a Tuition Agreement that explains the terms and
conditions of enrollment and our fees. We require a non-refundable annual
Membership/Registration fee,
Few of our operating costs of our center are eliminated when a child is absent.
Therefore, please note that tuition must be paid in full without deduction for
absences. Our facility and other operational expenses are based on fixed enrollment
levels. We are confident that you will understand our need for financial stability, and
we appreciate your cooperation in this effort.

Discipline . . .
Discipline at Time Well Spent is designed and carried out to help each child:
a) Learn self-control
b) Choose healthier alternatives
c) Develop an understanding and respect for others
d) Identify his or her feelings.
If and when discipline is needed, it is never the intent to embarrass the child in any way or in any
way do damage to the child’s self image. The child being disciplined will participate in resolving
the conflict in which he or she is involved. The following factors shall contribute to positive
discipline:
a) Modeling Good Behavior – Modeling by the staff largely sets the mood of the classroom.
Staff will demonstrate a calm demeanor, politeness, gentleness, and respect for the children.
b) Structured Activities – careful planning by the staff will provide an optimal amount of
activities to keep each child involved and stimulated at his or her developmental level.
c) Emphasis on Interpersonal Relationship Skills – Lesson plans devised by the staff will
include the interpersonal relationships of children. Emphasis is placed on helping children build
a positive self-image, develop self-esteem, demonstrate self-control, good manners, honesty
and the respect of others, identify and communicate their feelings, and learn how to forgive when
their feelings are hurt.
The only activity that we require be done is their homework. We only ask that the child inform us
when they have homework.. If the child tells us that they have no homework then we simply
accept that and encourage them to try some of the other activities. We do not want to be put in the
position where we are asked to search thru their personal belongs to see if the child has
homework or to question whether or not they have homework and are being up front with us.
They are asked each day if they have homework, if they get home and the parent finds that they do
indeed have homework, please discuss it with the child and explain to them the importance of
doing the homework here where they will receive help.
If a child continually disrupts the class or exhibits other behavior problems, appropriate
disciplinary action will be administered, such as removing the child from the immediate
environment until he or she is able to return to the classroom appropriately. Parents will be
notified if problems persist. If a child is unable to adjust to the classroom environment, or exhibits
behaviors that are harmful to other individuals, the child will have to be withdrawn from the
program. In retrospect children who do well are rewarded.
Toys . . .
Time Well Spent has an abundant supply of classes and materials for the child to use. Toys that
are brought into the Center from home, are difficult to keep track of and often cause problems of
ownership and possessiveness among the children. Therefore, we ask that you not bring toys
